has embraced on-line Zoom Classes and adopted a healthier lifestyle

I joined Lesley Mitchell Fitness when I saw the amazing results my mum was getting after regularly exercising and sticking to a healthy nutritional balanced diet.

Gaining weight whilst at University

I then went to university and put on about a stone as eating out and drinking became the norm. When lockdown hit I knew it could go 2 ways- eat my feelings or use this time to focus on my nutrition and exercise.

On-line Zoom classes became the norm

Thankfully, Lesley went online to Zoom straight away and even started to introduce more classes, giving me the push I needed to focus on getting fit. These were great, I tried to do as many classes as possible each week and stuck to a food plan, but still allowed myself some treats here and there. It’s all about balance.

I’m really careful with my language around ‘diets’ as it has restrictive connotations but a lifestyle change and getting into good habits is a much healthier choice.

I endeavour to walk about 4-5k every weekday with mum, during lock-down I ensured I attended all Lesley’s morning and evening classes and Saturday mornings, although back at work I can still do evenings & weekend classes.  I started to do a couple of morning traditional weight training along with a couple of HiiT in the morning.  There are also recorded sessions I can do at a time that suits me.

Tracking and resting, so important

Tracking has also helped me, I try to ensure I am not over consuming, but fuelling my body correctly on days I exercise and on my rest days and adjust accordingly.

Lesley, her members, both ladies and gents, have been fantastic.  Our Whatsapp groups and chats before class have also really helped me, although I am the baby of the group, I’ve felt looked after and supported throughout my journey.

Commitment and planning have given me great results

During this time I have lost 2 stone, I’ve gone from a size 14 to a 10 (I still can’t get my head around that!!) and lost 3″ from my waist, 4″ from both thighs,  4″ from my hips & 2.5″ from my chest / bust.

I have to thank you so much for helping me on my journey, I absolutely love the classes and I don’t know what I’d do without them or you!  It’s such a testament to you Lesley, that I’m 25 and see you as my fitness role model.
