SEAT!! and date for diary

SEAT Stop Eating All the Time!
Not so long ago we were told to graze in order to prevent blood sugar peaks and troughs. Now we are told Intermittent Fasting (works for me) is the way to go. Constantly elevated insulin levels interfere with leptin, the hormone that provides a feedback mechanism to tell your brain that you are full.

The culture of snacking on sugar, highly refined carbohydrates and processed foods, means insulin levels never go down. Snacks are often eaten mindlessly, in a state of boredom or stress.
I read this the other day “Newby (a Nutritionist) compares eating sugar or refined carbs, like biscuits and crisps, to pouring petrol on a fire. It will burn brightly but briefly – cue more cravings.”
So, if you are using intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating as it is sometimes called, its key not to grab a cinnamon swirl after your fast and to ensure that your meals contain plenty of nutrients and fibre (in other words veg) some protein (meat, fish, eggs, lentils, beans, tofu).
Want to lose some weight or just be healthier, ditch the sugary mid-morning pastry, afternoon biscuits and late night snack – maybe not all at once but over a few weeks. You will definitely feel better if you SEAT!
