Surviving Christmas!

Managing overeating during the holidays, particularly Christmas, can be challenging but definitely doable. Here are some tips to help you:
 
Mindful Eating: While you eat enjoy the flavours and textures of each bite. This helps you appreciate the food and to be more aware of when you are full.
 
Portion Control: Use smaller plates!

Balanced Choices: Lots of proteins, veggies and healthy carbs.
 
Stay Active: Even if you can’t get to class, make sure you keep active. Walking where possible instead of the car. Parking furthest away in the Supermarket!
 
Be Selective: Choose your indulgences wisely. Pick the foods that you really enjoy rather than mindlessly munching on everything available.
 
Stay away from the Buffet: By that I mean don’t stand next to the food table. Move away!
 
Listen to your Body: If you feel full, stop eating!

Be Kind to Yourself: If you do overeat, don’t beat yourself up. It’s a special time and a little indulgence is ok. Get back on track with your healthy habits the next day.
